Greater flexibility, increased productivity, less maintenance: The new stamping servo press and transfer unit by FagorArrasate

Servo Press

Servo presses can better adapt their kinetics to the requirements of the die. At present, when stamping parts with drawing operations, the die often causes a bottleneck in productivity. For this reason, adapting to the requirements of the die can increase its productivity and that of the installation as a whole. In the past, productivity was improved through the use of link-drive type kinetic systems that decreased speed during stamping, even at a high production rate. Servo presses go one step further by adapting the stamping speed and the height at which the reduction in speed starts to take place.

However, the next bottleneck in the installation is often at the transfer point, particularly when the original material is fed by cyclical rolls. For this reason, Fagor Arrasate has developed the new CNC6-S transfer, with improved dynamic features that seek to align its production rate with that of the servo press, thereby improving the productivity of the installation.

HOW TO OBTAIN THE BENEFITS OF GREATER FLEXIBILITY AND GREATER PRODUCTIVITY IN PRACTICE? With SYNCRO 3D

Both the servo press and the new transfer offer greater flexibility and improved performance, but how is this achieved in practice?

At the same time as producing these new development, Fagor Arrasate also recognized that it was necessary to create software that would ensure this optimized performance is obtained in practice. This new software predicts the parameters that need to be entered into the servo press in accordance with the requirements of the die, in terms of its maximum stamping speed, height, etc. It also obtains the best performance by the transfer unit because it adapts its movements to those produced by the servo press.

This means that the best cyclograms for the transfer unit and servo press can be obtained when the dies are being in their designed step, both from the point of view of achieving the greatest maximum production rate and improving the 3D study of press and transfer movements, integrating these movements into any CAD 3D system that is found on the market: CATIA, UNIGRAPHICS,SOLID-WORKS, AUTO-CAD, etc.
