There is an ever-increasing demand for cutting irregular geometries. The days when rectangles and regular trapezoids were standard blanks are long gone. The blanks that require cutting today are irregular-shaped 1 , as they enable better use of the material and a lesser number of operations on subsequent drawing processes.
